Natures Sway
December 2021.
Becoming a first time Mama has been hard to say the least. Right in the beginning when times were extremely tough, the rad team at Natures Sway sent me one of their hammocks for me to try with my baby girl after a desperate plea for help on the gram. They offered to send me one in exchange for some photos of the product - such a great trade of trades. I am so eternally grateful to them, and their patience as I navigated becoming a mother and also delivering them photos.
Offcut x Kathmandu
April 2021.
I’m so pumped to have worked with Offcut to document this insane collab with Kathmandu. The team at Offcut sent me the product and let me run wild with creativity. To show the full capabilities of this technical, water repelling fabric, I wanted to get that hat in the ocean STAT! This Offcut lid is made from actual offcuts from the production of the Kathmandu Moana backpack in yellow, also pictured in the series I created for them.
Elation The Label
March 2021.
Jess (the surfer pictured here) and I collaborated as she had a vision of wanting to surf wearing a skirt. She had the skirt, but we needed a one-piece. Elation were rad and sent us the Mawi swimsuit for this shoot. We also took out a pair of shorts in Eagle Ray print and captured Jess out there on a dreamy morn in big blue. This was such a rad collab between three female creatives; Jess - the surfer with the artistic concept, Kelly - owner and brains behind Elation the label, and myself - photographer looking for my hit in the ocean and getting some creative juices flowing.
The West End Wiggle
April 2021 + March 2020
Event photography for the inaugural West End Wiggle event in Ohope Beach in the Bay of Plenty. I spent time shooting both in and out of the water and captured all the action of the competition, plus the free surfers. You can see a whole bunch more photos from this event here in this blog post. I returned to shoot in April 2021 while 5 months preggy which was a new challenge but super fun to be a part of it again!
The Mat Collective
September 2020.
This eco-conscious yoga mat business required a new set of brand imagery for their re-brand. With three locations - beach, park area, cafe - the focus was to create as many different settings as possible so the images didn’t look like they were from the same shoot. And with sixteen products to shoot across multiple locations, it was an ambitious shoot day for The Mat Collective, but so much fun with a great crew!
Offcut
August 2020.
The Mixed Bag. In this send and shoot style shoot, Christchurch based eco-conscious brand Offcut, sent me three of their female hats to shoot however I wished to - they let me run wild with creativity and set up the shoot with my own model and styling. Giving me this kind of freedom allowed me to create both moving image and stills, as well as shoot in 35mm and 120mm rolls of film. The result? A totally mixed bag of content for the brand to use across their social channels.
SwipedOn
September 2020.
Brand shoot, focusing on telling the story about how this tech brand plants one tree for every new customer. On this assignment, I was shooting stills alongside the videographer for use across the SwipedOn social channels and website, both in water and on land.
Essence
August 2020.
The brief for Essence? To bring the brand to life! Essence is the brainchild of Courtney who features in these shots. As a freelance creative, she required images that would help tell her brand story subtly and bring her business to life by capturing images which showcase Courtney as an approachable and professional individual. It was a quick one-hour shoot where we managed to capture the essentials for web and social collateral, but on a new-biz budget.
Manuka RX
In this product shoot, Auckland based Manuka RX sent me a variety of their products to photograph. The brief was to create a new hero shot for the website, and trial some of the natural and eco-friendly beauty products at the same time. I chose the locations and the shoot day to coincide with good weather, working in collaboration with the marketing manager to first run the shoot plan past them and ensure they were happy with what I had in mind.
Emroce
March 2020.
Emroce is an eco-conscious swimwear brand creating zero waste product from textiles that would otherwise be discarded by the fashion industry. For this shoot, I worked with the brand manager and three real women models both on land and in the water to create collateral that would be used across social and for product shots on the website.
